Tomb Raider - NLNMAS Challenge
Tomb Raider...yes, that one from 1996, with the sexy Lara Croft raiding tombs, destroying temples and killing endangered species. Well, I grew up with this badass lady, and still now 20+ years later, I still play, many of us do!

My Tomb Raider Experience
I've actually started with Tomb Raider II. My dad had bought the game, and while my memories are pretty vague, I do remember crying for help because the game was scaring me. I'd sit beside my dad, playing it in my place, while I was giving directions.
Fast forward a few years, where my memory can catch up, I've met my two best friends in school and we all loved Tomb Raider. Good times we spent in their attic, playing various games from the classics, even sharing controls (2 on the keyboard), while the last one would decide where we could go, or...checking solutions because we were lost!

"I'm sorry, I only play for sports".Fast forward again a few years, I'm an adult now, holy crap. Tomb Raider games were ported on Steam, and exit the issues to install the CDs on computer. Now I have the issues to install Tomb Raider on Steam. BUT, it's more convenient. Eventually, things worked, I started streaming, and I started by streaming ALL the Tomb Raider games from 1996 to last one (Tomb Raider 2013 at the time). I haven't actually really finished any of the classics...so it was semi-blind playthroughs.

"Well, you have my total attention now. I'm not quite sure that I've got yours though. Hello?"On Twitch, I found out about this NLNMAS challenge which was pretty new at the time. And decided to try it myself. I started with Tomb Raider III, then II, then I. This way, every completion felt easier and easier. Now, I have yet to do it for Tomb Raider IV and Tomb Raider V, but these games bore me pretty fast...

"Don't you think you've seen enough?"After I did the first three games, I've tried speedrunning a little, Tomb Raider I & Tomb Raider III. But I lack the time to focus so much on one game, as I have so many others to play. It was rather fun anyway!

The NLNMAS Challenge
This challenge has been very unofficial for very long, and there were only unspoken rules. Eventually, with the help of Stellalune, the creator of the well known walkthroughs of Tomb Raider, I was able to bring the challenge to her beautiful website. This way, we are able to get in touch with more players and inspire them to attempt the challenge as well!

No Loads = The game must be completed in one sitting
No Meds = You are not allowed to use any medpacks, or any healing crystal.
All Secrets = You must pick up all secrets.
Together with Makeal, french speedrunner, I created a Discord server to gather Tomb Raider players who were interested into the challenge. In collaboration with players, we came up with rules and guidelines to help others attempt this challenge. We reviewed several runs and added them to the leaderboard to feature their success.
After that, we received several successful runs, and witness several awesome streams! As of today, I no longer have the time to maintain the server, and we no longer receive submissions. Perhaps someone else will continue.

This challenge requires good knowledge of the game, I recommend enjoying a blind playthrough first if you haven't played them yet. Stella's walkthroughs will help you out if you happen to get stuck.

Since I am playing a lot of various games, Tomb Raider is not my main focus. I like variety and discovering new games! Despite that, I wish to add Tomb Raider IV & Tomb Raider V, as well as re-doing the first three games. I'm in no rush, I enjoy taking my time :)
